Did you like it? You felt intimidated? Why didn’t you try it?

Asking these questions in advance is the first step to identifying creative blocks and finding solutions.

Abstract art is a very intimidating thing to do. It’s a very intimate way of expressing yourself.

Most likely, you didn’t realize that I stitch a great deal of abstract pieces in the background.

Abstract embroidery is the perfect way to relax and enjoy all that modern hand embroidery can offer. I can use colors that I like, stitch names or not and it doesn’t need to look like anything.

That’s why I love it.

Abstract Embroidery Art; My Secret Practice

Abstract embroidery art, my secret practice, consists of stitching techniques that are unconventional.

Why Have I Not Shared This With You Before?

This is one of my latest abstract embroidery mini-pieces

Although there are many tools that can guide abstract artists, I did not want to place any judgments on their work.

Abstract embroidery can be a form of personal expression. You might love it or hate it. It doesn’t matter so much as I enjoy the process (and didn’t want to disrupt that).

It is because I kept this information to myself.

I have always created “off-pressure” and “for no real purpose other than to enjoy and relax creating with my hand”.

We live in a society that is obsessed with productivity and maximizing time.

Charles and I are forced to optimize our time on a new level with an infant at home. (This has unfortunately led to less sharing of information on social media).

The idea that you have to do everything for a purpose, even if your time is limited, can be incredibly stressful. You are more likely to be stressed if you have a creative spirit.

As a new mother, I’ve thought a lot about the almost instinctive feeling of “never having enough”, which has the ironic effect of making me do less.

You probably understand what I mean if you are a mother yourself. You (and I) know that being present with your children and “not doing anything” are the best times.

Your presence is more important than how many activities you plan or how thoughtfully you develop games.

The same is true for art.

“Abstract Embroidery Art – A Way To Be Enough, Without Knowing Where It Stops”.

To embroider abstract invitations to experimentation and improvisation.

Abstract art is sometimes referred to in general as colors and forms that speak for themselves.

The beauty of the form may be cited as an argument.

Abstract art is also influenced by abstraction, simplification and reduction. Kadinsky is considered one of the earliest abstract artists. He often spoke about abstract art in terms of expressing the minimum necessary to communicate a message.

4 Things Generally Determine Your Piece’s Message (Individually Or Combined):

  • A thought
  • An emotion
  • A picture or object in the world
  • Improvisation

How can you represent your emotions in the simplest way possible?

It may seem easy to get rid of clutter, but it is not. Imagine the last time that you had to go back and remove excess words from a piece of writing.

It takes me much longer to condense down a text than it does for me to write from my heart.

How does this relate to the idea that abstract embroidery art is enough without knowing its end?

You can certainly have the intention of creating a embroidered piece that will be displayed on your wall. You don’t always know what the final result will be when you start.

In the end, starting is enough. You’ve made something. It’s a wonderful feeling.

You could create a minimalistic abstract art piece by adding just one stitch. But who cares?

Abstract art is a conversation starter for both the artist and the viewer.

Millions of people will perceive and experience a piece in a million different ways. If you share your progress with others, you invite them to join the conversation. It’s up to you if you want to share your progress or not.

Conclusion

Abstract embroidery art, my secret practice, uses unconventional stitches.

Abstract embroidery is my secret practice. It allows me to explore creativity, experiment and find comfort in the interplay between thread and fabric.
